White Oak Landscape Co., Inc. is a landscape company based in Marietta, Georgia, United States.[1] Founded in 1977,[2] it provides residential and commercial landscape design, installation and maintenance, along with irrigation, landscape lighting, hardscaping, water features and seasonal color programs, for homes, estates, businesses, homeowners associations and multi-family communities across greater Atlanta and north Georgia.[1][3]

History

White Oak Landscape was established in June 1977 by Doug Davis. It began in Marietta with an office in an 8-by-12-foot tool shed.[2] It was incorporated in Georgia as White Oak Landscape Co., Inc. on January 4, 1978.[4] The company later described itself as a "local Marietta startup in 1977".[1]

In January 1979 the company moved to Canton Highway, and in February 1981 it bought 2.85 acres on Liberty Hill, off Canton Highway, where it built a 795-square-foot office in 1982 and a 1,250-square-foot addition in 1984. In January 1986 it bought nearly 7 acres on Moon Station Road, which remains its home.[2] The site holds an office building, equipment and truck storage, greenhouses and materials storage.[2]

In August and December 2007 the company's work appeared on the covers of Atlanta Home Improvement magazine.[2] In October 2025 the company said it was approaching its 50th anniversary; it is led by President and CEO Rocky DeVotie.[3][1]

Design, hardscapes and water features

In September 2025 White Oak Landscape expanded its stonework and hardscaping services to include patios, walkways and retaining walls built from pavers, brick, concrete and natural stone, along with fire pits and outdoor kitchens.[5] At the same time it added custom water features, including fountains, ponds, waterfalls, koi ponds, streams, splash pads and rain gardens.[6]

In January 2026 the company expanded its landscape lighting services with LED systems and app-controlled smart controls, offering design, installation and maintenance for path, accent and architectural lighting.[7]

Maintenance, irrigation and seasonal color

The company's maintenance work includes lawn care, seasonal plantings, irrigation management and general grounds upkeep.[3] In April 2026 it introduced a seasonal color change program for homes, with quarterly plantings in flower beds, containers and entrance areas, such as pansies and snapdragons in spring and chrysanthemums and ornamental kale in fall.[8]

In July 2026 it expanded its irrigation services for commercial and residential properties, covering system design, installation, maintenance and repair, drip irrigation, weather-based smart controllers, moisture sensors and rain shut-off devices.[9]

Commercial and community landscaping

In March 2026 White Oak Landscape expanded its outdoor living work for commercial properties, adding walkways, seating areas, shade structures and garden spaces.[10] In August 2026 it broadened its commercial landscaping for apartment complexes, lifestyle centers, residential communities and mixed-use developments,[11] and expanded grounds care for office campuses, shopping centers and multi-tenant properties.[12]

In October 2026 the company reported growing demand from homeowners associations and commercial communities, for which it maintains entrances, shared lawns, walkways and recreation areas under plans set with association boards and property managers.[13]

Associations and certifications

White Oak Landscape is a member of the Georgia Green Industry Association, the Urban Ag Council of Georgia and the National Association of Landscape Professionals, whose logos appear on the company's website alongside the Irrigation Association's.[14]

It has been a member of the Irrigation Association since February 2008, and became an ARCSA Accredited Professional in rainwater harvesting in November 2009. Several of its employees passed the state exam for commercial pesticide application in 2008.[15]
